SSA is highly experienced in creating the best commercial designs for your commercial wastewater treatment system to ensure they meet your needs and comply with the regulations of local councils and/or EPA Victoria.
The design of your commercial wastewater treatment system involves several key steps and SSA can run through a questionnaire with you before we tailor a quote for the whole design process.
The design of your system is based on several key factors, but the two key criteria are:
- Daily Hydraulic Load – how many litres of water enter the system per day.
- BOD – Biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) represents the amount of oxygen consumed by bacteria and other microorganisms while they decompose organic matter under aerobic (oxygen is present) conditions.
- Type of business / organisation – The DHL and BOD of a system is calculated on the number of people using the system and the type of business or organisation. For example, the DHL and BOD of a restaurant is calculated differently to that of an office space or camping ground.
If your DHL is less than 5,000 Litres per day, then your commercial septic permit application will be assessed by your local council.
If your DHL is greater than 5,000 Litres per day, then your commercial septic permit application will need to be assessed by Environment Protection Authority (EPA) Victoria.
All commercial wastewater treatment systems will require a Land Capability Assessment (LCA) report in support of any commercial septic permit application. SSA works closely with the best environmental engineers and will organise this for you on your behalf.
